Midsize jets are the step up from a light jet when the Orlando trip needs more cabin room, more range, or a few more seats without moving into a heavy aircraft. Seven to nine seats, 2,000 to 3,000 nautical miles of range, and a stand-up or near-stand-up cabin on most platforms. The Northeast, Midwest, Mountain West, and much of the Caribbean all sit inside this category comfortably.
Typical Aircraft
The Cessna Citation Excel and XLS are the most widely chartered aircraft in this group, with a stand-up cabin and strong domestic range. The Cessna Citation III and Citation VII are older but still active platforms. The Hawker 850XP and Hawker 900XP carry eight in a wide cabin with good bag room. The Learjet 55 and Learjet 60 bring speed. The Embraer Legacy 450 is the newest entry with a flat-floor cabin. The Falcon 20 is a French-built outlier with a distinctive cabin. The Gulfstream G100, G150, and IAI Astra SPX are related platforms from the same program family.
When Midsize Jets Fit the Orlando Trip
Orlando to Chicago, New York, or Boston in a cabin where passengers can stand and work is the central use case. Denver, Dallas, and Kansas City are all inside range. Mexico City and Cancun work well on most platforms in the group. Caribbean destinations including Turks and Caicos, St. Maarten, and Barbados are inside the range of the longer-legged entries. A light transatlantic leg with a reduced load is technically possible on the Falcon 20 and Hawker 900XP, though a heavy or super-midsize jet is the more practical answer for a crossing with full passengers and bags.

Orlando Charter Patterns
The midsize jet is the most commonly requested category for Orlando executive travel: enough cabin for a small team, range to reach the Northeast or Midwest in one leg, and a cost profile that makes sense for a routine business trip. Orlando Executive Airport handles most of these operations cleanly. Holiday weekends and the school-break calendar drive the leisure side of this market, and availability in late December through early January tightens earlier than most clients expect.
