Raytheon built the Premier 1 as a carbon-fibre fuselage business jet with a wide oval cross-section cabin carrying six passengers. Why the Premier 1A Fits Orlando
The Premier 1’s cabin width is the standout feature for Orlando-area travel. The oval cross-section is noticeably wider than the narrow cabin of a conventional light jet, which matters on a two-hour flight from KORL to the Southeast or Gulf Coast when passengers want to spread out without booking a midsize aircraft.
For owner-operators flying themselves into KISM or KORL for a Disney or Universal trip, the Premier 1A is a natural fit. It was built for the owner-pilot market, the glass cockpit is modern enough for current IFR operations, and the carbon-fiber airframe keeps empty weight down relative to comparable all-metal aircraft.
The Premier 1A’s range and speed are adequate for most Central Florida domestic routes, including the Northeast corridor and Gulf Coast connections. It is not as widely available on the charter market as a Citation or Learjet of similar size, so lead time for booking one through a broker may be slightly longer.
